Robert James Trainor

FAIRBURY – Robert James Trainor, 62, Fairbury, died at 12:33 pm Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at his residence, Fairbury.

His funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am Monday, May 13, 2019 at St. Andrew Catholic Parish, Fairbury with Fr. Scott Archer officiating.  Burial will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation will be 3:30 to 8:00 pm Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with at rosary to be recited at 3:00 pm.  The family suggests memorial donations be given to OSF Hospice, Children’s Hospital of Illinois or St. Andrew Catholic Parish.

Bob was born March 6, 1957 in Streator, IL the son of John A. and Dorothy Stahly Trainor.  He married LuAnn Verdun on February 20, 1981 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Odell.  She survives in Fairbury.

Other survivors include his father, Jack Trainor, Wing, children, Mark (Kara) Trainor, Joseph (Lindsey) Trainor, both of Fairbury, Greg (Faith) Trainor, Champaign, Katie (Lance) Golliday, Lexington, Jay Trainor, Denver, CO, 8 grandchildren, Jase, Kyler, Harry, Lucy, Sammy, and Jack Trainor, Luke and Hayleigh Golliday, 1 brother, Mike (Teresa) Trainor, Chatsworth, 3 sisters, Pat (Eric) Rieger, Lynn (Mike) Reis, both of Forrest, Ann (Cal) Zimmerman, Fairbury.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy and a grandson Ethan Trainor.

Bob was a lifetime farmer and a 1975 graduate of Forrest-Strawn-Wing High School. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Parish, Fairbury, the Knights of Columbus, and Knoll Lodge.

Bob was happiest outdoors, at the cabin or by the pool, surrounded by family and friends.
