NORMAL – Normal Police are continuing to investigate an armed robbery of a taxi driver and are searching for two suspects described as black males in their 20’s.
Police said the suspects robbed the cab driver just before 9 p.m. in a parking lot in the 200 block of South Linden Street, across from the Normal Police Department.
Officers said the taxi driver suffered minor head injuries after one of two passengers displayed a handgun and demanded money. The suspects ran away after stealing an undisclosed amount of cash.
About 30 minutes prior, officers were called to a separate shots fired incident in northwest Normal.
Police said two males were sitting inside a car in the 700 block of South Golfcrest when multiple shots were fired by a suspect outside the vehicle. Officers also located damage to a nearby apartment building due to gun shots. No injuries have been reported and there have been no arrests.
