Mobile home and garage in Anchor a total loss after fire

ANCHOR – A fire on Thursday destroyed a mobile home and attached garage in eastern McLean County.

Several area fire departments were called about 9 a.m. to the home at 419 First Street in Anchor.

No one was home at the time, and there were no injuries, according to Assistant Chief Randy Clark from the Octavia Fire Protection District, which includes Anchor, Cooksville, Colfax, and Cropsey.

Octavia firefighters received aid from Saybrook, Arrowsmith, Lexington, Ellsworth, Fairbury, and Sibley.

Authorities are investigating the cause. A dollar estimate of damage is not available.
