Davis: Presidential candidate Joe Walsh ‘political windbag’

SPRINGFIELD – U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Taylorville) can describe former Congressman – turned Presidential candidate Joe Walsh in two words: “political windbag.”

Davis says Walsh – whose one term in Congress was immediately before Davis entered the House – is an opportunist who is just trying to get attention for himself by saying he wants to run against President Trump in a GOP primary. Davis said, given the media interest in Walsh’s candidacy, it’s working.

Apparently irritated by reporters’ questions about Walsh, Davis said, “I certainly hope that (for) every crackpot candidate that comes out on the Democrat side (you will ask) everyone running for Congress (as a Democrat) their feelings on them.”
