BLOOMINGTON – Corn Belt Energy crews are heading south to assist with Hurricane Dorian storm restoration efforts.
The crews will specifically assist Peace River Electric Cooperative in Wauchula, Fla., which is southeast of Tampa. Corn Belt sent ten lineman and they plan to be in Wauchula by Sunday. A total of 13 Illinois electric cooperatives are sending crews to Florida.
Hurricane Dorian strengthened to a Category 3 Friday. The National Weather Service said Dorian is on track to make landfall late Monday or early Tuesday.
