Cardinals at Pirates; Pete Rose night for CornBelters DH on WJBC

The St. Louis Cardinals head to Pittsburgh’s PNC Park for the second leg of their eight-game road trip as they begin a four-game set against the Pittsburgh Pirates in a battle of the two top teams in baseball.

The Cardinals lead the Pirates by 4.5 games in the National League Central heading into the final weekend before the All-Star break.

Carlos Martinez (9-3) makes his final push for the final spot on the National League All-Star roster as he gets the ball for St. Louis against Pirates’ lefty Jeff Locke.

WJBC will bring you the action starting at 5:55 p.m.

Normal CornBelters fans will get to see baseball’s all-time hits leader and a doubleheader tonight.

The CornBelters will play the Schaumburg Boomers in a twinbill at the Corn Crib starting at 6:35 p.m. Pete Rose will be on hand to sign autographs before the game and to help coach the Belters that night.

WJBC will have the games with Greg Halbleib at the mic starting at 6:20 p.m.
