BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington man is in fair condition at a local hospital as he recovers from a bicycle crash involving a car that was driving too close, according to police.
Dean Davis of Bloomington was riding with a group of bicyclists when he crashed his bike on 2250 North and 1000 East Road in White Oak Township west of Hudson on Tuesday.
Police are seeking reckless driving charges against a Eureka man. Randy Crump, 61, was taken to the McLean County Jail on preliminary charges of reckless conduct and reckless driving.
Crump’s vehicle was reportedly traveling too close to Davis’ bike as he passed the group.
Davis is recovering at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal. Crump was released from the McLean County Jail after posting his drivers’ license.
McLean County State’s Attorney Jason Chambers tells WJBC his office is still investigating the incident.
