NORMAL – Illinois State University has named a new leader for its library.
ISU provost Jan Murphy announced Friday Dallas Long has been named dean of the university’s Milner Library.
Long has served as an associate dean at the library since 2014. He replaces Shari Zeck, who served as interim dean of the library during the search.
Long joined the school’s faculty in 2008 as the head of access services at Milner Library. He later took on roles as the copyright officer and the subject librarian for the Department of Geology and Geography.
“Dr. Long is a librarian, administrator, and internationally-recognized scholar who will provide leadership at this transformational time,” said Murphy in a news release.
Gov. JB Pritzker on Thursday announced ISU’s library is getting $90 million for an overhaul.
