BLOOMINGTON– Dorothy “June” Penn, 91, of Bloomington, passed away at 6:41 a.m., Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the McLean County Nursing Home, Normal.
Her funeral will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington with Monsignor Eric Powell officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen Memorial.
June was born June 18, 1928 in Bloomington, the daughter of Clarence and Elizabeth Foley Marble. She married Paul S. Penn on October 9, 1946 in Bloomington. He died on May 7, 2015.
Survivors include three children, Don (Norma) Penn, Linda (Mark) Drane and John (Mary) Penn, all of Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Michael, Tony, Eric and Ryan Penn; Shawn Marie Eiker, Jeff Penn and Lacy Fidler; sixteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Penn and two granddaughters, Polly Jo Jaspers and Tammy June Barnes and a sister Betty Guthrie.
June worked on the assembly line at Admiral in Bloomington for over thirty years. She was an avid reader, enjoyed movies and loved to cook. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington.
