BLOOMINGTON – The McLean County Health Department announced a second person in the county has died from the coronavirus.
The MCHD said the patient was a man in his 70s who tested positive in early March with no history of travel or exposure.
“We are saddened to report that another member of our community has died as a result of this virus. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends,” said McLean County Health Department Administrator Jessica McKnight in a statement. “We remain dedicated to working closely with our local health care partners in response to the pandemic, and encourage the public to do their part to lessen the spread by observing the stayat-home order.”
The MCHD also reported a new coronavirus case, a woman in her 80s who is currently hospitalized.
There are now 18 confirmed cases in McLean County. That includes the two deaths.
