NORMAL – McLean County Sheriff’s Police said a stabbing that happened Tuesday evening just outside of Normal was the result of a domestic dispute.

Sheriff Jon Sandage said a man was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries after the stabbing that happened at a home near the corner of Towanda Barnes Road and Raab Road.

According to Sandage, neither the alleged victim or the other person involved in the dispute were cooperating with investigators.

There was no word on any arrests.

Authorities, including those in McLean County, have noted a recent uptick in domestic violence incidents since Gov. JB Pritzker ordered Illinois residents to stay at home to control the spread of the coronavirus.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
