NORMAL – The Illinois State University governing board decided to keep tuition and room and board rates the same for next year.
ISU’s Board of Trustees approved the same rates during its virtual meeting Friday morning. The board voted for an increase in mandatory student fees which results in a moderate increase in the overall cost of attendance.
The overall increase amounts to $487, or 1.97 percent, including an increase of $22 per academic year for optional student health insurance. The total cost of attendance for a full-time undergraduate student, including health insurance, is now $25,169. Mandatory student fees for the upcoming year will be $107.78 per credit hour, a 16.8 percent increase from the previous year. Residence hall and dining rates remain unchanged.
Meanwhile, the board agreed to a six-month extension of its current agreement with Connect Transit. It also approved an amendment to President Larry Dietz’s contract to extend the term through December 31. His current contract was set to expire June 30.
