CHICAGO – U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Channahon) believed the nuclear deal with Iran is a bad one.
The Republican said the world powers should have held out for a deal in which Iran doesn’t enrich uranium at all and stops all missile research. He thought sanctions against the country should continue.
“What’s going to happen when the sanctions are relieved and they have many, many more billions of dollars to spend their idea of terror and their idea of dysfunction around the Middle East,” said Kinzinger. “The other thing, too, is this is going to create an arms race around the Middle East.”
Kinzinger said it also appears human rights issues aren’t addressed.
Another Republican, U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) has been monitoring restrictions on religious minorities in Iran and has been trying to draw attention to them.
