LEROY – McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder has identified the victim of a fatal crash that happened Thursday morning.
Ryan A. Ploense, 36, of Leroy died from head and spinal injuries sustained in the crash, according to Yoder.
Ploense was the only person in the vehicle, which left the roadway and crashed into a field. Yoder said the victim was ejected from the car. Toxicology results are still pending.
The crash happened Thursday around 5:48 a.m. on 3200 East near 600 North Road, just northeast of LeRoy. The McLean County Sheriff’s Department, LeRoy police and fire assisted at the scene.
The crash is still be investigated by the coroner’s office and the sheriff’s office.
