BLOOMINGTON – While the McLean County Health Department has yet to issue a ‘Cease and Desist’ letter to any local restaurants, officials say they have responded to complaints from the public about indoor dining.
“For the most part, they’ve been social distancing complaints,” Tom Anderson, Environmental Director at the McLean County Health Department added. “Obviously, it’s hit the media about the local Pizza Ranch, and allowing indoor seating. There have been a couple of types of those complaints. For the most part, social distancing and lack of wearing facial coverings while providing services to the customers.”
In total, health officials say that three establishments opened early for indoor dining.
Anderson added that the health department has also received complaints about local community pools opening ahead of time.
“Initially, we had numerous complaints about a week-and-a-half ago against community pools opening up. That was handled by the Illinois Department of Public Health out of the Champaign region. Then later that day, the Governor’s office released guidelines for pools to reopen, but under limited circumstances.”
