Attempted murder alleged in the shooting of a man in Normal

NORMAL – A man has been charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting another man in the face during an argument in Normal earlier this month.

Our news partner HOI ABC reports Normal Police Chief Rick Bleichner said D’Cameron King, 30, allegedly pulled out a handgun and the weapon discharged outside a residence in the 1700 block of North School Street in Normal during the predawn hours on June 7.

According to Bleichner, the victim was hospitalized for non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators obtained a warrant for King’s arrest, and he surrendered late Thursday night.

In addition to attempted murder, King is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.

He has to post $75,035 to be released from the McLean County Jail.
