McLean County Health officials announce 11 new COVID-19 cases

BLOOMINGTON – McLean County Health officials report 11 new cases of Coronavirus, increasing the county total to 472 cases.

Officials report that 57 individuals are isolating at home while four are hospitalized with one of those currently in the ICU.

“As our community continues to take actions to contain COVID-19, businesses and employers can also play a role in stopping the spread of the virus,” McLean County Health Department Administrator Jessica McKnight said in a news release. “Employers can educate employees about steps they can take to protect themselves at work and at home.”

McKnight reports 396 individuals have been released from isolation and are considered recovered.

More than 22,400 tests have resulted in a positivity rate of 2.1%. The rolling 7-day positivity rate is 2.0%.

“If you have been identified as close contact to someone that has tested positive, it is important to complete the full 14-day quarantine,” McKnight added. “You cannot test your way out of quarantine.”

There have been 15 deaths in the county.

Meanwhile, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced 1,076 new cases of COVID-19 and 30 deaths. IDPH is reporting 173,731 statewide cases and 7,446 deaths.

The 7-day rolling positivity rate is 3.8%.
