McLean County health officials announce seven new cases of COVID-19

BLOOMINGTON – Coronavirus infections continue to rise in McLean County, with health officials announcing seven new cases.

Local officials say 101 individuals are isolating at home while two are hospitalized. Additionally, 434 of 552 cases have recovered and are out of isolation.

More than 26,000 tests have resulted in a cumulative positivity rate of 2.1%. The rolling 7-day positivity rate is 1.9%.

“We are asking that everyone continue to work together to help our community stay safe and well,” McLean County Health Department Administrator Jessica McKnight said. “When we do what we know prevents disease transmission, we can control the spread of COVID-19.”

There have been 15 COVID-19 deaths in the county.

Additionally, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced 1,298 new cases of COVID-19 with ten deaths. The statewide totals stand at 183,241 cases and 7,526 deaths.

The 7-day rolling statewide positivity rate is 4%.
