BLOOMINGTON – Coronavirus infections continue to grow in the Twin-cities as the McLean County Health Department reported 13 new cases on Wednesday, increasing the county total to 583.
Health officials report 101 individuals are isolating at home, and one is hospitalized. Officials also say 466 individuals have recovered.
There have been 15 COVID-19 deaths in the county.
More than 27,620 tests have resulted in a cumulative positivity rate of 2.1%. The rolling 7-day positivity rate is 2.0%.
“An individual can spread the virus even when they do not have symptoms or appear sick. Any interaction with someone outside of your household could be a risk for infection,” said McLean County Health Department Administrator Jessica McKnight.
Meanwhile, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced 1,759 new cases and 30 deaths. The statewide totals increased to 186,471 cases and 7,573 deaths.
The statewide 7-day rolling positivity rate is 3.9%.
“IDPH and I continue to call on local officials to pay close attention to the data for their communities and when necessary step-up and impose greater mitigations on a targeted base to bring down the number of infections and the positivity rate,” Gov. Pritzker said during his press briefing heard on WJBC.
Additionally, Livingston County Health officials announced one new case of COVID-19. The individual includes a female in her 30’s who is recovering in isolation.
