Two men arrested for gun offenses in Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON – Two Bloomington men were arrested Monday for gun offenses in two separate investigations.

Javares L. Hudson, 20, of Bloomington, was arrested without incident in the area of the 1600 block of E. Empire St. on offenses relating to his unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to Bloomington Police. During the course of the investigation, a firearm was recovered at a hotel in the 1800 block East Empire St. on September 1. Hudson is being held at the McLean County jail and bond has been set at $15,000.

BPD said Kenyon J. Bones, 18, was arrested during a traffic stop near Low St. and Miller St. without incident. Bones was arrested on offenses relating to his unlawful possession of a firearm (felony) as the result of an ongoing street crimes unit investigation. During the course of the investigation, a firearm was recovered during a search warrant at an apartment in the 800 block of East Washington St. on Aug. 27. Bones is being held at the McLean County jail and no bond information was available.
