SPRINGFIELD – It’s not quite the home stretch of the 2020 farming season in Illinois.
Mark Schleusener, state statistician for the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service, reports corn is 26 percent harvested, soybeans 25 percent harvested. Because they’re a little behind, the farmers may not be done before Thanksgiving, he said.
73 percent of corn and 75 percent of soybeans are rated good to excellent.
The October yield forecast is out Friday.
