BLOOMINGTON – As President Trump continues to claim voter fraud in the 2020 Presidential election, one Central Illinois Congressman says he believes there was no voter fraud in the election.
Congressman Darin LaHood (R-Dunlap), who served as co-chair of President Trump’s reelection campaign in Illinois, said the Trump administration failed to provide evidence of voter fraud in court.
“Well, listen, as a former federal prosecutor, I believe in facts and evidence. It looks like the facts and evidence that show any type of fraud or improprieties have not been there. But, everybody gets their day in court and deserves an opportunity to have those things looked at. The fact that on election night, it appeared that President Trump was going to win, and then it didn’t happen because of the absentee vote. I think (it) caused some people, including him, to think there may have been some improprieties there.”
On Monday, the General Services Administration (GSA) recognized Joe Biden as the next President, beginning the power process transition.
“Now we’re three weeks later after the election, they (republicans) had their opportunity in court, they did not present any facts or evidence. As we saw yesterday, President Trump is moving forward with allowing the GSA to extend money to Vice President Biden to begin his transition; I think that is the right move by the President. He has one or two more cases left in court, but it appears any type of court case is running out, and it looks like we will have a smooth transition,” LaHood told WJBC’s Scott Miller.
I want to thank Emily Murphy at GSA for her steadfast dedication and loyalty to our Country. She has been harassed, threatened, and abused – and I do not want to see this happen to her, her family, or employees of GSA. Our case STRONGLY continues, we will keep up the good…
