8 more COVID-related deaths reported in McLean County

BLOOMINGTON – McLean County health officials Thursday reported eight additional coronavirus-related deaths, a new single-day high since the start of the pandemic.

A woman in her 50s, a man in his 60s, a woman in her 70s, two men in their 70s, and a man in his 80s who were not associated with long-term care facilities have died, according to McLean County Health Department Administrator Jessica McKnight. As well as a man in his 80s and a man in his 90s associated with long-term care facilities. There have been 83 lives lost in the county.

There are 24 McLean County residents currently hospitalized due to COVID and 1,127 are isolating at home. Local hospitals are reporting 88% of ICU beds in use and 78% of total beds in use.

MCHD announced 89 new cases, as the county’s rolling positivity rate inched up to 9.6%.

55 additional people were released from isolation, now 9,188 have recovered.
