BLOOMINGTON – The McLean County Health Department Friday announced 10 more coronavirus related deaths, bringing the number of lives lost to 146.
A woman in her 60s not associated with long term care; five women in their 80s and one in her 90s all associated with long term care facilities; and a man in his 70s and one in his 80s not associated with long term care and a man in his 90s associated with a long-term care facility have died, according to local health officials.
MCHD reported 92 new cases. There are 21 McLean County residents in the hospital due to COVID and 582 are in home isolation. McLean County hospitals are reporting 77% of ICU beds in use, 85% of total beds in use, and 25 individuals hospitalized for COVID-19.
The county’s rolling positivity rate dropped from 7.5% to 6.3%.
427 new cases of coronavirus have been reported over the last week. An age breakdown of the new cases:

- 1-17: 55
- 18-19: 34
- 20s: 120
- 30s: 61
- 40s: 43
- 50s: 42
- 60s: 39
- 70s: 21
- 80s: 5
- 90s: 4
- 100s: 1
COVID-19 Vaccine Update
Appointments are required for vaccine clinics at this time, and can be made through the Health Department’s website https://health.mcleancountyil.gov. Due to high demand, all appointments for the first posted clinics have been filled. The public is encouraged to continue checking the calendar on the Health Department’s website as additional clinics will be added.
Around 7,500 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in McLean County.
