BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington shoppers made their way downtown for a windy first outdoor farmer’s market of the season on Saturday morning.
The producer-only market brought farmers from all over area, offering locally grown produce, meats, dairy and more.
Many of the vendors were glad to be back, showing off their best products. Yet, some noted the market still lacks the social aspect that mad it so special in the past.
Chenoa farmer Ron Ackerman stressed the importance of having local farmers around for the community.
“As local farmers we’re concerned about their health and well being,” Ackerman said. “That’s what we’re in business for.”
The market runs outdoors from seven-thirty in the morning to noon every Saturday until the end of October.
