Federal rental relief dollars are coming to Illinois

SPRINGFIELD – “Housing is a human right.”

State Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-Chicago) made that statement as Gov. JB Pritzker signed into law her bill allowing $1.5 billion in federal rental relief to flow to Illinois landlords.

“This bill is a critical step in affirming this right for all Illinoisans,” Ramirez said of the bill which will help some 120,000 households.

The governor made stops in Chicago, East St Louis, and Springfield Monday to sign and promote the bill.
