BLOOMINGTON – Many businesses have put up their “help wanted” signs, but there have been few takers.
They were hoping to find future employees at a job fair in Bloomington on Thursday.
The McLean County Chamber of Commerce hosted the job fair in the parking lot outside Eastland Mall.
Charlie Moore, the chamber’s president and chief executive officer, said every employer he’s talking to is looking for people.
Moore hopes the fair helps those employers who are desperate for help.
“We have over 60 exhibitors here today representing over 1,400 jobs,” said Moore.
“These people are interviewing and hiring on site. So people coming today are likely walking out with at least an interview, if not the opportunity to start a new job as soon as tomorrow,” Moore added.
People who weren’t able to attend Thursday’s job fair are encouraged to visit the chamber’s website for more information.
