Fatal crash in rural Livingston County

ESMEN – A man from Odell died in a single-vehicle crash Thursday night in rural Livingston County.

Coroner Danny Watson says the crash happened around 8:49 p.m. at 14990 E. 2900 N. in Esmen Township.

The Ford pickup truck left the road and traveled several hundred feet through heavy brush before rolling and ejecting the driver, according to Watson. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s identity is being withheld until family is notified. An autopsy has been scheduled.

The accident remains under investigation by the coroner’s office and Illinois State Police.
