Fourth of July activities return to the Twin-Cities

BLOOMINGTON – Annual Fourth of July festivities are happening this weekend across central Illinois.

The City of Bloomington will hold its first ever Miller Park 4th of July Classic Car Cruise Celebration. The event will be Sunday from 3-7 p.m. Other special events in the city can be found here.

The Sky Concert firework show at Miller Park and Fairview Park in Normal will happen around dusk (approximately 9:15pm).

The 53rd annual 4th of July Parade in Towanda will start at 10 a.m. Keep an eye out for the WJBC car and Marc Strauss.

Other events:

  • Chenoa has events all day on Sunday, July 4th including a flea market, cruise-in, food vendors and fireworks at dusk
  • Downs has a full day of events on Sunday, July 4th at Dooley Park with fireworks starting around 9pm
  • Eureka will start their activities at 10 a.m. Saturday July 3rd and a full slate of events for Sunday, July 4th.
  • Heyworth will hold its fireworks celebration on Sunday, July 4th at Centennial Park
  • LeRoy will hold its parade Sunday, July 4th starting at 11am
  • Mackinaw will hold their celebration starting at dusk Sunday, July 4th at Brock Lake.
  • Minonk’s Fourth of July celebrations will be held from July 1-4. The carnival at Sutton’s Park begins on July 1 from 6-10 p.m. and will run through July 4. Fireworks will be on display at 10 p.m. July 3.
  • Morton will hold their celebration at 2 p.m. Sunday July 4th Fourth at McClallen Park. There are 350 parking spots available with it costing $5 for Morton residents.
  • Normal will hold their celebration at 5:30 p.m. Sunday July 4th at Fairview park with the display starting around 9:15 p.m.
  • Pekin is holding their celebration at 7 p.m. Sunday July 4th at Pekin Community High School’s Memorial Stadium with a rain date on July 5th. $5 admission for adults, $1 for children 6-12, and children under 5 are free.
  • Pontiac will hold its festivities on Monday, July 5th with events at the Pontiac Golf Course followed by fireworks later that evening
  • Roanoke will hold their 15th annual Fireworks Super Cruise celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday July 4th. The car show will start at 3 p.m. on July 3. The fireworks will commence at dusk, according to the village’s Facebook page.
