BLOOMINGTON – Gas prices are rising across the state as more people hit the roads over the holiday weekend.
According to the GasBuddy price report, gas prices have risen 1.7 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.29 per gallon today.
“Gasoline demand over the holiday weekend certainly did not disappoint as millions of Americans flooded the roads for the long weekend,” said Patrick DeHann, head of petroleum analysis.
The cheapest station in the state is priced at $2.84 a gallon. However, 10-years ago, Illinois shelled out $3.81 a gallon.
Meanwhile, the national average of gasoline is unchanged in the last week, averaging $3.12 a gallon.
