20-year old Mason County man killed in early morning Tazewell County crash

TAZEWELL COUNTY – Tazewell County officials have identified a 20-year old Mason County man who died in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident.

Early Monday morning, around 6:00 a.m., the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 17000 block of Springfield Rd. S. of Queenwood Rd. in Groveland.

Police report Samuel Rodgers, 20, of Mason County, was found deceased near a motorcycle in a grassy area off the roadway.

Preliminary autopsy findings show Rodgers died of multiple blunt force injuries. A toxicology report is pending.

The case remains under investigation by the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office and the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office.
