McLean County Coroner identifies fatal crash victim

HUDSON – A man from Normal has been identified as the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash in Hudson.

Warren Welch, 72, died in the single motorcycle accident, according to McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder. The accident happened around 3:40 p.m. at 24032 Ron Smith Memorial Highway.

Preliminary autopsy results indicate Welch died from cervical spinal and cerebral injuries due to a motorcycle striking fixed objects, reportedly sustained as the driver and sole occupant of the motorcycle that left the roadway and struck trees, according to a news release.

This incident remains under investigation by the coroner’s office and McLean County Sheriff’s office.
