MCHD reports 48 new cases of COVID-19; rolling positivity increases to 4.8%

BLOOMINGTON – The McLean County Health Department reports the rolling 7-day positivity rate is increasing, as county health officials report 48 new cases of COVID-19.

Officials report the new cases as 12 McLean County residents are hospitalized due to the virus, and eight residents outside the county are hospitalized in twin-city hospitals.

Officials also report 282 people are isolating at home, while 18,779 people have been released from isolation and are considered recovered.

McLean County Public Health Public Affairs Coordinator Marianne Manko reports 402,400 tests have resulted in a cumulative positivity rate of 4.8%. The rolling 7-day positivity rate is up from 4.5% to 4.8%.

There have been 242 COVID-related deaths in the county.

Approximately 173,984 doses of the vaccine have been administered in the county on the vaccine front, as 50.36% of the population are fully vaccinated.
