BLOOMINGTON – Last month was another strong showing for Central Illinois Regional Airport in Bloomington.
CIRA deputy director Fran Strebing spoke with WJBC’s Scott Miller.
“We’ve been coming back from what was a rough year. In July we had over 35,000 people come in and out of Central Illinois Regional Airport. We were at about 89% of 2019 numbers, which was a very good year for us, so to be at 89% of 2019 was excellent for us.”
Looking ahead, Strebing says travel normally slows down with the start of school and business travel keeps numbers steady. But business travel has been slow to return with the ongoing pandemic.
