BLOOMINGTON – Frontier Airlines started nonstop service to Las Vegas from the Bloomington airport last month, but that service is being suspended in October.
Central Illinois Regional Airport executive director Carl Olson says the increased COVID-19 levels in Las Vegas hindered the amount of travelers, resulting in Frontier suspending the service.

“We are looking and having conversations about bringing it back once things get a little more settled,” Olson told WJBC’s Scott Miller. “Once Las Vegas and the casinos went back to requiring indoor masking, people just seemed to lose some interest in going there. We are hoping we can get some of these other factors under control and get that Vegas service back because it is a tremendous market for us.”
Olson says Frontier will suspend the Las Vegas flights starting Oct. 3.
