MCHD reports 500 county residents in home isolation; 60 new cases of COVID-19

BLOOMINGTON – Over 500 McLean county residents are in home isolation, as county health officials report 60 new cases of COVID-19.

McLean County Health Department officials report 32 people hospitalized in Bloomington-Normal, with 28 of them county residents.

In addition, county hospitals are reporting 81% of ICU beds and 93% of total beds are in use.

MCHD Public Affairs Coordinator Marianne Manko says the county positivity rate remained steady at 4.6%, while the rolling 7-day positivity rate is up to 3.4% from 3.2%.

Around 183,363 doses of the vaccine have been administered in the county, and 53.24% of the county’s population is fully vaccinated.

There have been 252 COVID-related deaths in the county since the start of the pandemic.
