Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office asking for public’s help in sign-stealing case

TAZEWELL COUNTY – The Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying recent thefts of multiple stop signs in the county.

During the week of May 19, Heritage Lake reported eight stop signs and poles, one speed “bump ahead,” and the large decorative Heritage Lake entrance sign was stolen from the east entrance of the Heritage Lake-Mackinaw subdivision.

According to a news release, the HLA Board of Directors has authorized a $500 reward for information that leads to the arrests of person(s) responsible for the thefts.

There is no suspect information, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Detective Franchetti at 478-5625.
