BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington Police need the public’s help in locating a person who left over 380 grams of cannabis in a bucket on the city’s southwest side.
In a social media post, police say the person was “intoxicated, stumbling and mumbling” when they bragged about having $1,000 worth of cannabis in a bucket to a bystander.
The following day, officers responded to the same area and located a missing bucket with approximately 383 grams of cannabis.
“We were surprised you were so honest the night before telling a stranger about your “treat,” we like honestly. Unfortunately, we had to seize your missing/lost property and placed it into a BPD evidence locker
Also, in total transparency – Illinois allows a resident who is 21-years or older to possess up to 30 grams of marijuana/cannabis – not 380+ grams of cannabis, in a bucket while walking around intoxicated. Just wanted to let you know that…before we reunite,” the department said in a social media post.
There is no suspect information, and anyone with information are encouraged to contact BPD.
