BLOOMINGTON – A local agriculture cooperative is looking for donations to help the tornado victims in Mayfield, Kentucky.
Bloomington-based Evergreen FS started collecting donations this week to help those who have been impacted. The company is asking community members to help fill a semi-truck trailer with several different items.
“Primarily new clothing, bottled water, personal hygiene items, and baby items,” said Evergreen FS CEO and General Manager John Tuttle. “Kind of our understanding through our co-worker who has connections down there is they are really looking for the basic necessities right now.”
The collection event will run until Tuesday, Dec. 21 at 402 North Hershey Road in Bloomington. Donations can be dropped off weekdays from 7am-4:30pm and from noon until 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
“This has been humbling and extremely rewarding to see how our employees have rallied and want to help people in need. And even based on the community members who have showed up so far because they heard about it through a community group or on social media. People want to help,” said Tuttle.
