Gov. Pritzker: “We are reaching all-time record numbers of cases and surging hospitalization”

SPRINGFIELD – For as much as the governor talks about Illinois being a leader in the pandemic fight, the numbers are still worrisome. 

The state’s covid hospitalization total is a new high: 6,294.

“Unfortunately, we are reaching all-time record numbers of cases and surging hospitalizations,” Gov. JB Pritzker told a Chicago news conference Monday. “At a time when some have chosen to politicize vaccinations as a way to polarize our politics, Illinois state governmentt is focusing on science.”

The total of Illinois children hospitalized with covid has almost tripled since December. 

Pritzker urges postponement of non-emergency surgery.
