BLOOMINGTON – With increases in COVID-19 cases and the recent holiday season, many people are looking for testing options locally.

The McLean County Health Department has listed local testing options on its website. Those can be found here.

MCHD Administrator Jessica McKnight says testing is just one tool to help reduce transmission.

“We are testing at a good rate but we can always do more,” said McKnight. “We’re not always capturing all of the infection that is in our community. We know we have high community transmission, we know we are seeing a lot of cases, and we can also assume there is more undetected out there.”

According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, over 700,000 tests have been performed in McLean County.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

In these troubled times, to my fellow white Americans

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
