BLOOMINGTON – After a large fire Monday afternoon at Victory Church in southeast Bloomington the executive pastor is asking the community for prayers.
Several fire departments responded to fight the blaze that destroyed most of the west wing of the church and caused lots of smoke and water damage, according to Executive Pastor Jarrod Herald.
“It’s disheartening, but joy comes in the morning,” Herald told WJBC’s Scott Miller. “We are excited for all God has for us and we are still going to be Victory Church. We are still going to love people even as we possibly have to rebuild. We are still going to be a loving church in the community.”
The cause of the fire is still under investigation and no injuries were reported, according to Herald.
Herald says the community support has been overwhelming and they’ve heard from other churches around the country.
Victory Church will have service this Sunday, but where and when is still being determined, said Herald.
He says more information will be available here.
