BLOOMINGTON (Heart of Illinois ABC) – Two incidents of shots fired and a burglary kept Bloomington Police busy over the weekend.
Bloomington saw two incidents of shots fired on Saturday, January 29 – the first at around 7:10 p.m. in the 300 block of South Western Avenue, according to a release.
Officers located evidence a shooting had occurred and found an occupied residence had been struck by gunfire.
While doing a follow-up investigation at 9:39 p.m., officers arrested a 17-year-old man and seized a firearm.
The juvenile was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon – current order of protection, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon – minor in possession and resisting/obstructing a police officer.
A second shots fired incident at around 8:56 p.m. took officers to the area of Wood Street and Pancake Street where officers located evidence a shooting had occurred, with gunfire striking an occupied residence.
No arrests have yet been made.
No injuries were reported in either shots fired incident.
At around 7 a.m. Sunday, were dispatched to the 700 block of Douglas Street for a burglary of progress.
The suspect was identified as Shaquan Hosea, 26, of Bloomington and was also arrested for residential burglary, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon – loaded firearm and possession of cannabis.
