BLOOMINGTON – Two McLean County Board members are announcing plans to seek re-election.
Jim Soeldner, the board’s vice chairman and chair of the board’s transportation committee, is running for a 5th term representing District 2, which covers southeastern McLean County.
Soeldner has been on the board since 2008. He lives in Ellsworth and previously served as the board’s finance committee chair.
Meanwhile, Chuck Erickson, Chairman of the Justice Committee, announced he’s running for a 5th term representing District 10.
Erickson was first appointed to the county board in June 2011, elected in 2021, and re-elected in 2014 and 2018.
Through his tenure, Erickson served as the Chairman of the Land Use Committee, a senior member of the Finance Committee, and a member of the Executive Committee.
According to a release, Erickson vows to be an advocate for common-sense fiscal conservatism, plans to continue to work across the aisle, and plans to be a continued advocate for the Sheriff’s Department.
Early voting begins May 19, while the primary election day is June 28.
