Illinois House Democrats review the week at the Capitol

SPRINGFIELD – During a review of the week at the state Capitol, House Majority Leader Greg Harris (D-Chicago) said the budgeting process would include working with Republicans, specifically with the GOP’s House “budgeteer,” State Rep. Tom Demmer (R-Dixon).

As a lack of bipartisanship has been a standing complaint of the superminority Republicans, Harris dodged a question about whether his letter to Demmer was an admission the Democrats needed to improve.

Harris also did not directly answer a question about whether the time spent enforcing mask rules upon Republicans was a waste.

Lawmakers have scheduled an April 8 adjournment.
