PEKIN – A 4-year-old child and three Pekin Police officers were taken to a local hospital after the child was rescued after falling into a lake.
Around 3:19 p.m. Monday, officers were dispatched to Rosewood Lane on the report of a child walking across the ice on Meyers Lake.
When officers arrived, the child was underwater.
The three officers entered the water and rescued the child from the water with help from the Pekin Fire Department.
The Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a follow-up investigation.
