BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington Telecommunicator is receiving recognition for helping a caller through a pre-hospital delivery in early March.
The McLean County Area EMS System awarded a certificate and Stork pin to Telecommunicator Sarah for her work.
According to a release, Sarah was able to guide the caller through a safe and healthy delivery prior to EMS arriving at the scene.
“(Sarah’s) tone was calm and professional for the duration of the call,” said Communications Center Manager Darren Wolf. “(Sarah) remained in control of the call, provided clear instructions and frequently checked for the caller’s understanding of those instructions.”
Bloomington Police Chief Jamal Simington and Deputy Fire Chief Cory Matheny awarded Sarah the certificate and Stork Pin earlier this week.
