NORMAL – The Town of Normal has been working to redevelop the Uptown area for more than half a decade. That dream may soon become reality as the council will review the plans from a new developer at Monday night’s meeting.
Eagle View Partners has submitted plans for Trail East and Trail West multi-story residential and business developments.
The buildings would be 5-6 stories with about 200,000 square feet of retail space and 150 residential units between the two.
The estimated cost of the development is between $50-60 million. A timeline for the development would see Trail West finished first in Fall of 2024. Trail East would follow with construction beginning around the time ‘West’ is finished with completion planned for early 2026.
The cultural mural which has been a community point of contention with any redevelopment plans would be preserved under these plans.
