Normal’s Leah Marlene advances to top 10 on American Idol

NORMAL – Normal’s very own American Idol is making her claim for national glory.

Leah Marlene advanced to the Top 10 Monday night, singing Bob Dylan’s ‘Make You Feel My Love.

On her Facebook page, Leah expressed gratitude for everyone who voted for her to continue on in the competition.

“I can’t believe I get to take the American Idol stage another time next Sunday!!!!!!”

The Unit 5 School District is celebrating Leah’s success. She’s a 2019 Normal West High School Graduate, where she was an honors student participating in Choir, Drama, and Key Club.

Leah also attended Prairieland Elementary School and Parkside Junior High School, also in Unit 5. It was at Prairieland’s talent show that Leah performed on stage for the first time.

Leah performs again next Sunday at 7 p.m. on Heart of Illinois ABC.
