SPRINGFIELD – The morning after the news about the possible reversal of Roe v. Wade broke, Gov. JB Pritzker gathered two or three dozen Democratic lawmakers for a news conference in Chicago – ready for a fight.
The group, including State Rep. Kelly Cassidy (far right) (D-Chicago), issued a warning:
“It’s not just about reproductive rights,” said Cassidy. “They’ve telegraphed that in the decision, naming decisions on birth control and interracial marriage and marriage equality.
“They’ve given us their road map.”
Cassidy is a lesbian who is married to a woman. She also said she had an abortion to end an ectopic pregnancy – and said the procedure saved her life.
